Brisbane, CA – June 7, 2006 – BiPar Sciences, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, today announced that Thomas F. Mr. White will provide an overview of the Company’s strategy to develop and commercialize a new class of cancer therapies and discuss its lead product candidate, BSI-201. BSI-201 is a potent, novel inhibitor of PARP (poly-adenylribose polymerase), an important regulator of cell proliferation, gene transcription and DNA repair. It is currently being evaluated in an open-label, dose escalation clinical study at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and the Institute for Drug Development in San Antonio. BSI-201selectively induces tumor cell death by inhibiting enzyme function central to tumor survival. In numerous preclinical studies, it was shown to be well tolerated and exhibited activity against a broad range of tumor types, including but not limited to ovarian, prostate, breast, colon, lung, pancreatic, cervical and bladder.
